# Glossary

> Look up the terms Parker uses, from automations and routines to sources, rules, and reply notes, with a link to the page that covers each one.

The words Parker uses, in alphabetical order. This guide uses one term for each idea, so a word here means the same thing everywhere.

### Admin

A workspace admin. Admins set workspace-wide policy. Admin-only areas carry an **Admin** label, such as **Compliance** in Settings. See [Permissions](/reference/permissions).

### Automation

A job Parker runs on your inbox. It reads new mail, decides which emails match, and drafts replies or tells you about them. You decide what is sent. See [Automations](/automate/automations).

### Autonomy

How far Parker can act without a person checking first. The **Send mode** is **Review**, **Auto when confident**, or **Auto all**. See [Autonomy](/admin/autonomy).

### Branding

Your workspace's brand kit: logos, colors, chart palette, typography, and footer. Parker uses it for everything it generates. See [Branding](/admin/branding).

### Channel

A way to talk to Parker outside the web app: Messages, WhatsApp, or Microsoft Teams Beta. See [Parker on your phone](/mobile/overview).

### Chat

A conversation with Parker. You ask in your own words and Parker answers from your data. See [Chat overview](/chat/overview).

### Classification

A standing set of AI labels over your Salesforce records, such as a category for each case. You start one by asking Parker in chat. See [Classifications](/admin/classifications).

### Compliance

The regulations your business answers to, and the checks Parker runs so its work follows them. See [Compliance](/admin/compliance).

### Confirm

The button on the card Parker shows before it creates a Salesforce record. Nothing is written until you select **Confirm**. Select **Reject** to cancel. Updates to an existing record have no card. See [How Parker acts on your behalf](/get-started/how-parker-acts).

### Connection

A system Parker reads from or works in, such as Salesforce, your mailbox, your calendar, or an app like Notion. See [Connections and apps](/admin/connections-and-apps).

### Coverage

The part of **Compliance** that shows which agents each regulation governs. See [Compliance](/admin/compliance).

### Deep analysis

Longer, multi-step report runs. Admins can turn it off under **Proactive**. See [Proactive](/admin/proactive).

### Files

Files you attached in chat and exports Parker made for you, kept in one place Beta. See [Files](/library/files).

### House rules

Rules written in plain language for your workspace. They sit alongside rules that came from a regulation. See [Rules](/admin/rules).

### Knowledge

Documents, spreadsheets, and websites that Parker can search in every conversation. See [Knowledge](/admin/knowledge).

### Location index

Parker's own index of where your Salesforce records are, so location questions answer in a second or two. It builds itself and never shows records your Salesforce login can't read. See [How Parker finds locations](/maps/how-locations-work).

### Location reading

Parker's decision about what an ambiguous location field means for one record, such as whether a **Location** field is where a lead is or a location they want. Admins preview readings before turning them on. See [Location readings](/admin/location-readings).

### Member

A person in the workspace who isn't an admin. See [Members](/admin/members).

### Memory

Lessons and preferences Parker remembers from your chats, for **Just me** or your **Team**. Review, edit, or remove them in **Settings** > **Memories**. See [How memory works](/chat/memory-and-private-chats).

### Oversight

How strictly Parker's work is checked, and who reviews it. See [Oversight](/admin/oversight).

### Page

A report, dashboard, or plan Parker built for you. You can refresh it with live data, keep it updated, or share it. See [Pages](/library/pages).

### Parker

An AI sales assistant that works on top of your Salesforce and your mailbox. You ask in plain language, and Parker answers from your live data. See [What is Parker?](/introduction).

### Proactive

What Parker may start without being asked: **Message people first**, **Scheduled work**, and **Deep analysis**. See [Proactive](/admin/proactive).

### Reply notes

Notes under a reply, in **Notes on this reply**, that flag Salesforce data as possibly out of date, such as a **Stale** record Beta. Admins set the thresholds in **Settings** > **Reply notes**. See [Oversight](/admin/oversight#reply-notes).

### Routine

A saved prompt with a schedule. Each time it runs, Parker answers the prompt and delivers the result by email or in Parker. See [Routines](/automate/routines).

### Rules

Everything Parker must follow, sorted most important first. See [Rules](/admin/rules).

### Sign-off

How replies Parker drafts for you end. Set it in the **Sign-off** card in **Settings** > **Writing style**. See [Writing style](/email/writing-style).

### Sources

What an answer came from. Select **Sources** in the chat header to see everything Parker cited in the chat. See [Chat overview](/chat/overview).

### Verified

A badge at the top of **Sources** that shows Parker's figures were checked against their sources. See [Chat overview](/chat/overview).

### Work panel

A panel that opens a source, record, table, chart, or design beside your chat Beta. See [Work panel](/chat/work-panel).

### Workspace

Your company's space in Parker. Knowledge sources and workspace-wide settings are shared by everyone in it. See [Members](/admin/members).

### Writing style

How Parker writes when it writes as you, learned from your sent mail. See [Writing style](/email/writing-style).
