# Control proactive work

> Choose what Parker may start without being asked: nudges to your team, scheduled routines and automations, and longer deep-analysis reports.

>
> **Admins only.** Only workspace admins can change these settings. If you're not an admin, you can still see them, but you can't edit them.

**Settings** > **Agent** > **Proactive** controls what Parker may start on its own. Everything here is on for new agents.

## What does each switch do?

| Switch | What it covers | When you turn it off |
| - | - | - |
| **Message people first** | Nudges about stalled leads and emails that need a look, plus the daily "what I did" note. | Reminders people asked for, and alerts they created, still arrive. |
| **Scheduled work** | Routines, automations, and standing reports that run on a schedule. | They pause until you turn it back on. Nothing is deleted, and **Run now** still works. |
| **Deep analysis** | Longer, multi-step report runs, including standing reports, and the chat suggestion to start one. | Quick reports still work. |

## Turn a switch on or off

**1. Open the Proactive tab**

Go to **Settings** > **Agent**, then select **Proactive**.

**2. Flip the switch**

In the **Without being asked** group, turn **Message people first**, **Scheduled work**, or **Deep analysis** on or off.

## When would I turn these off?

* **Scheduled work**: during a Salesforce migration or an incident, to pause every routine and automation at once without deleting anything.
* **Message people first**: if your team finds the nudges noisy.
* **Deep analysis**: if you want reports kept short across the workspace.

## Troubleshooting

> **Routines stopped running**
>
> Check whether **Scheduled work** is off. Turn it back on.
