# Review location readings

> Preview how Parker reads ambiguous location fields in your Salesforce records, then turn those readings on or off for your workspace.

Check how Parker reads location fields that could mean more than one thing, then decide whether to use those readings in location searches.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Admins only.** Only workspace admins can change these settings. If you're not an admin, you can still see them, but you can't edit them.

## Before you begin

* You need the **admin** role in Parker.
* Your workspace's Salesforce is connected, and so is your own Salesforce login. See [Connect Salesforce](/admin/connect-salesforce).

## What is a location reading?

Some Salesforce fields, such as a plain **Location** field, might hold where a lead is or a location they want. Parker reads each record with its other location fields and decides what that field means for that record. Each reading has a confidence. Until you turn readings on, Parker doesn't use them. See [How Parker finds locations](/maps/how-locations-work).

## Preview and turn on readings

**1. Open Location readings**

Go to **Settings** > **Connections** > **Salesforce**. Under **Advanced**, open **Location readings**.

**2. Preview the changes**

Select **Preview changes**. Parker lists the records whose location meaning it would change. Each one shows the field value, the related fields, and Parker's confidence.

Parker reads these records live with your own Salesforce access. Nothing is saved or logged from this view.

**3. Turn the readings on, or leave them off**

If the readings look right, select **Apply these readings**. Otherwise, leave them off.

You can reverse this at any time. Every change is recorded in the settings audit trail.

## Check it worked

Ask a location question that depends on the field, such as "Which leads are interested in a site near Geelong?" Rows located by a reading say **read by Parker**.

## Which Salesforce objects does Parker index?

Besides leads, Parker indexes up to 10 other Salesforce objects that hold addresses, choosing the ones with the most located records. It skips system objects and anything named for sensitive personal data, such as health or payroll records.

To add or exclude an object, contact Parker support.
