# Set up channels

> Connect your Microsoft Teams tenant so your team can talk to Parker in Teams, and see how each person links their phone for Messages or WhatsApp.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Beta.** This feature is being rolled out gradually, so it may not be turned on for your workspace yet, and details may change. To request access, ask your Parker admin or contact support.

**Settings** > **Channels** lets your team talk to Parker outside the app, in Teams or from their phone. Parker uses the same knowledge, memories, and rules in every channel.

## What do admins set up, and what does each person do?

| Channel | Admin | Each person |
| - | - | - |
| **Microsoft Teams** | Connects your Microsoft 365 tenant, and installs the Parker app from your Teams admin center. | Installs Parker from your organization's Teams app catalog. See [Teams](/mobile/teams). |
| **Messages** (iMessage, RCS, or SMS) | Nothing in Settings. | Links their own mobile number. See [iMessage and SMS](/mobile/imessage-and-sms). |
| **WhatsApp** | Nothing in Settings. | Links their own mobile number. See [WhatsApp](/mobile/whatsapp). |

## Connect Microsoft Teams

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Admins only.** Only workspace admins can change these settings. If you're not an admin, you can still see them, but you can't edit them.

### Before you begin

* You need the **admin** role in Parker.
* You need access to your Microsoft Entra admin center and Teams admin center, or someone on your IT team who has it.

**1. Find your tenant ID**

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to **Overview** and copy your tenant ID.

**2. Connect the tenant in Parker**

Go to **Settings** > **Channels**. In the **Teams tenant** card, paste the ID into **Microsoft 365 tenant ID** and select **Connect tenant**.

**3. Install the app**

Connecting only tells Parker which tenant to answer. Install the Parker app from your Teams admin center.

Messages from any other tenant are dropped before Parker looks at who sent them.

## How do Messages and WhatsApp work?

Your workspace has its own Parker number. Each person links their own mobile number under **Settings** > **Channels** > **Link your phone**:

1. Select **Messages** or **WhatsApp**.
2. Enter your mobile number in international format, with + and the country code.
3. Select **Link Messages** or **Link WhatsApp**.

Messages uses iMessage or RCS when available, with SMS/MMS fallback. In WhatsApp, charts and tables arrive as pictures, and exports as files. Parker keeps the same workspace permissions and approval flow it uses everywhere else.
